Un film sul dialogo mai avvenuto tra il poeta giapponese Matsuo Bashō e l’architetto italiano Carlo Scarpa.La voce di Bashō prende di nuovo vita nelle architetture di Scarpa, lasciandoci sospesi in quel viaggio della vita e della morte come mistero.
Matsuo Bashō was a Japanese poet of the XVII century. He spent his life traveling and writing after being ordained as a Zen monk. Carlo Scarpa was an Italian architect of the XX century. His work also drew inspiration from traditional Japanese architecture. He was a great admirer of the spirit of Bashō’s haiku poetry, so much so that in his last journey he retraced the trails of the wandering poet.
Matsuo Bashō è un poeta giapponese del ‘600 che dopo esser stato ordinato monaco zen, passò la sua vita viaggiando e scrivendo. Carlo Scarpa è un architetto italiano del’900: il suo lavoro trasse grande ispirazione dalle architetture tradizionali giapponesi e fu grande ammiratore dello spirito poetico degli haiku di Bashō, tanto da ripercorrere, nel suo ultimo viaggio, i tragitti del poeta errante.
